Memories...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew/know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Updates about the Car and Van

They have both been found. One not so good - the other surprisingly ok. The insurance company figured it would cost too much to tow the car back to Edmonton and fix it so we have to buy new one. Rich is really choked up about that :)

We are hoping to have found a new
car to drive before we leave on our
trip. Which will be very exciting because we will HAVE to buy a new camera as well. And then I can start posting more pictures again.

Also Rich's parents are watching the kids for us so we know they will be having a blast while we are gone. I really think it is a wonderful thing for Grandparents to do such an amazing thing. The kids always love it and remember it forever!!

I've got good news and I've got bad news....

Well I figured it was time to update my blog - I am good for one entry a month usually....This month has already been incredibly eventful! We celebrated Canada Day with great friends and food - at the Ledge and at Millwoods Park - the boys had a blast - but were not too fond of the noise from the fireworks.

Andy Celebrated his fourth birthday yesterday with tons of friends and lots of water - I really wish we had pictures!! I really can't believe he is four!

I guess now I can post info about our New Addition...We had our first appointment with our doctor on Monday June 30th and heard our baby's heartbeat - what a wonderful sound!! The boys thought it was really cool. Then on Thursday - July 3 we had our ultrasound and found out we are having another bouncing baby boy. Isaac and Merrill are thrilled that there will be four brothers - just like the Ninja Turtles....Are we ready for this?

Okay and now the bad news... Two weeks ago we had our Honda stolen from in front of our house - not too terribly hard because we still had the van. We have theft coverage so we have a rental. The police found our car 8 hours away in Clearwater BC - in pretty bad shape - we still haven't heard back from the insurance company...And this morning I am heading out the door with the boys all ready for church (Rich left earlier for meetings) but I can't find the van!! I am still in shock that someone could be that mean. We had to go again to the police station and talk to the same officer (you have no idea how embarrassing that is) who thankfully was very kind, but reminded us that when our honda was stolen we were given an anti theft club to help deter people from stealing our van....we are much wiser now....Is it too much to hope for it's safe return? And maybe a thorough detailing and a full tank of gas?

It's been a busy busy day

Well it's been a very busy day full of work and now a little fun. I cleaned my oven this morning which was in desperate need of some tlc and after it was all done it sure looked fabulous. I've opened it a few times just to make sure it's still clean :) I think that feeling of accomplishment is what brought on the rest of my day.
I went out to my backyard which really is overgrown because there has been lots of rain. I pruned the giant size lilac bush that blocks every bit of sunshine from Isaac's room - I am sure he'll be happy about that. Now I just have to have a free night to burn the branches in our fire pit.
Next came the never ending job of weeding the garden. Seriously I can only do such a little bit at a time - maybe 20 min and then I need to sit for an hour to get my energy back. No wonder I am getting a little fatter sooner this time around. (The Hickory sticks and Dr. Pepper aren't helping either I'm sure.
Then it was off to Auntie Heather's house - That was nice - 20 min of talking to an adult is always rewarding. Lunch time at our house is just like a circus. I get Isaac from school and on a good day I have him home for 20 min before it's time to bring him and Merrill back to school - i am so looking forward to the freedom of summer holidays - 11 days left :)
Once lunch is over I usually get to relax with Andy - watch a movie, take a nap - you know those important things but today I went to do some work at Rich's office and then send some packages off to two family members serving missions. It really was fun - i hope they get them soon. And getting groceries - aaarghhh - But I am not going to complain too much because....I got to eat poutine from New York Fries - which was a little bit of heaven in all the chaos of this day.
Now for my favorite part of the afternoon - it starts in one minute - one full hour of Mike Holmes - fixing everyone's problems with a smile and some fine looking shoulders. Rich is all good with this because he knows he looks just like Mike Holmes ;)

Updating my Blog

Thank-you to everyone who still hasn't given up me and my blog. I know I have troubles with keeping this thing current and it all has to do with my inabilities to find anything interesting to say (and my dear husband has misplaced our camera....) Pictures are really what makes a blog. I really do love looking at all of your families and laughing at the funny and wonderful stories that you have to share. I can say that I promise to be a more regular blogger from here on...but all of you know me well enough to know that that is a promise I can't keep.

I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weekend, making lots of memories and planning your next blog so that I have something to read the next time I check yours out.

Big Big Snowman

This weekend we were surprised to wake up to about a foot of snow!! The boys were super excited so we said if they could play quietly through Conference we would play in the snow with them. What fun!! Unfortunately the snowman didn't last very long - we had just gone inside and it came crashing down - at least we got pictures!! After the snowman there was a giant snowball fight and a fun family walk. What a wonderful blessing to see our boys laughing and playing together. I feel very lucky to have all that I have.
